This hideaway consisting of a glass & steel box overlooking the bushveld was inspired by a beautiful sunset in the heart of African. The 300 square meter home is raised over the tree line in bridge like fashion offering unobstructed views over this beautiful farm. Tucked into a clearing of Acacia trees, this double storey home consists of an open plan living kitchen area enclosed by bedrooms on both ends, connecting the occupants to nature. Below, a covered patio and kitchenette allow the owners to engage the landscape while watching the sun set. Bridge House’s elemental material palette of steel, wood and concrete draws inspiration from the untouched African wilderness.
